Camp Lookout News

The summer of 2011 has ended after some beautiful weather along with a lot of fun and aearning.  The staff came together to provide a fantastic experience for 603 campers during teh summer of 2011.  The trees shook with joy when our first group of campers arrived July 3rd and continued until the last group left on August 19th.  Our children were engaged in athletics, arts and crafts, nature, swimming, and canoeing. Each day the counselors prepared a special Cabin Time activity with their campers focusing on safety, group building, and people making.   Each Thursday night we closed our camp session with a moving vespers service as we reflected on our week and thanked the people that helped us have a special week.  Our counselors truly enjoyed the special relationships that they developed with the campers.  The campers enjoyed their overnights in our two authentic tipis from Colorado courtesy of The Montei Foundation of Columbus, Ohio on platforms constructed by the local Lion's clubs.  We hope that the campers enjoyed their time and camp and are looking forward to returning for another at Camp Lookout in 2012.
